TAY is built around real services: memberships, account access, football pitch bookings, opponent matching and shop purchases. This policy is written around those activities rather than generic app or global-franchise language.
About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TAY Athletics (“TAY”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal data when you use this website, create or use a TAY account, purchase a membership, make a football pitch booking, use the matchmaker feature, place a shop order, contact us or otherwise interact with our services.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, TAY determines why and how personal data is processed in connection with these services.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use TAY. It may include:

Why we use your information
We use personal data only where there is a valid reason to do so. Depending on the activity, this may include performing a contract with you, taking steps at your request before entering a contract, complying with legal obligations, pursuing legitimate business and security interests, or relying on your consent where consent is required.

Payments
When online payment is enabled, payments may be handled by a third-party payment service provider. That provider may collect payment card or bank information directly under its own terms and privacy notice. TAY may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, limited payment details and records required to confirm and administer a purchase.
We do not need to store full payment card details on TAY systems where the chosen payment provider processes those details directly.
Cookies and website technology
TAY may use essential cookies or similar technologies to keep the website working, protect accounts, remember preferences and support secure sessions. Where analytics, performance or marketing technologies are introduced, they should be used in accordance with applicable consent and notice requirements.
You may be able to control non-essential cookies through a cookie preference tool or through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect account, checkout or booking functions.
Who we may share data with
We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate TAY, such as website hosting and cloud providers, authentication providers, payment processors, email or SMS providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, order fulfilment or delivery partners and professional advisers.
We may also disclose information where required by law, a court, a regulator or law-enforcement authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect TAY, our users, our staff, our property or the public.
TAY does not operate a business model based on selling customers’ personal data.
International processing
Some service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, TAY will take steps required by applicable Nigerian data protection law to ensure an appropriate basis and safeguards for the transfer.
Security
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure. Those measures may include access controls, secure authentication, encrypted connections, logging, backups and restrictions on who can access personal data.
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and should contact us promptly if you believe your TAY account has been accessed without permission.
How long we keep information
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining transaction and accounting records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting legal or regulatory obligations. When information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or securely retain it where a continuing legal obligation requires us to do so.
Your privacy rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable Nigerian data protection law, you may have rights to be informed about processing, access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, object to or restrict certain processing, request deletion, request portability, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and seek human review where a significant decision is made solely by automated means.
You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a rights request.
Your choices
Account information
You may request corrections to account information that is inaccurate or incomplete. When account-management features are available, some information may be updated directly through My Account.
Marketing
You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails through the unsubscribe option included in those messages or by contacting TAY. Service messages relating to an active account, booking, membership, order or security issue may still be sent where necessary.
Account deletion
You may ask TAY to delete your account and associated personal data, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, safety or dispute purposes.
Children and minors
TAY does not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children in a way that would bypass any consent or authorisation required by law. Where a minor is permitted to use a TAY facility or service, a parent or guardian may be required to provide or approve information and agree to relevant participation rules.
Third-party links
The website may link to third-party websites, social networks, payment services or other external services. TAY does not control the privacy practices of those third parties. Their own privacy notices apply when you leave TAY’s website or use their services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as TAY’s services, website or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Where a change is material and the law requires additional notice, we will provide an appropriate notice through the website, account contact details or another suitable method.
