Abdulbasit Yusuf
Chief Executive Officer, TAY Athletics
Leadership, vision, passion, and a commitment to excellence define Abdulbasit Yusuf, the driving force behind TAY Athletics. As Chief Executive Officer, he provides the leadership and strategic direction behind TAY’s growth and its ambition to become more than a destination for physical activity.
A young and dynamic entrepreneur, Abdulbasit has built interests across several industries, including Information Technology, Construction, and Agriculture. His diverse entrepreneurial experience reflects a broader understanding of innovation, business, opportunity, and sustainable development.
At TAY Athletics, his vision is centred on creating an institution where sports, fitness, health, wellness, talent, and community development come together. He believes that sports and physical fitness are not only about competition or performance, but also about discipline, confidence, healthy living, personal development, and creating pathways for young people and communities to thrive.
The name TAY carries a deeply personal significance for Abdulbasit. Established in loving memory of his late father, Alhaji Tiamiyu Akanji Yusuf, it represents a legacy of vision, character, and dedication, values that continue to influence the direction and purpose of TAY Athletics.
Under Abdulbasit’s leadership, TAY is being positioned as a platform where passion meets opportunity, talent is nurtured, healthy lifestyles are encouraged, and meaningful impact is created.

The name TAY carries deep meaning. It was chosen in loving memory of Alhaji Tiamiyu Akanji Yusuf, a man whose vision, character, and dedication left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. TAY Athletics exists to carry that legacy forward, not just as a name, but as a standard of excellence we hold ourselves to every day.
